Hello,
Are you an autistic adult? Would you love to be in a band, but struggle to relate to neurotypical people?
If you’re anything like me, the answer to all of these will be - hell yes!
As an autistic person, you may have found it challenging to find your place in the world. Neurotypical people can be hard to relate to, and many of the autism groups available are aimed at people with higher support needs that you may not relate to.
Well, in the spirit of punk, I thought I’d reach out and put a group together myself!
With help from my brother Luke, who has over 10 years of experience as a semi-professional musician, we’ll learn how to put together a band. Luke’s band have performed at the Cavern Club, Isle of Wight festival and been played on BBC Radio. He’ll show us the ropes, helping us to arrange some songs and get comfortable as a band.
The goal is to write a few songs together, with the aim of playing a local gig in 3 months' time :)
Even if you don’t play an instrument, but just love rock n’ roll, get in touch! Rock n roll doesn’t have to be complicated and plenty of bands started without being able to play a note! All we ask is that you have a passion for rock n roll and have your own instrument to bring along if you wish to play one.
This is just as much about meeting like-minded friends as it is making music, so feel free to reach out whatever your experience level.
