Who is the Workshop for?
Teen Life is a six-session programme for parents/carers of young people aged 10 to 16 years on the autism spectrum. It aims to empower parents and supporting professionals to understand more about how autism is experienced by teenagers.
Topics covered include:
The aim of the Teen Life Programme is to bring parents together to share information, experiences and ideas in a structured way. Teen Life emphasises the importance of autistic perspectives, with a variety of videos and quotes used throughout the sessions.
How is the course delivered? The course may be delivered face to face or virtually - you will be advised when invited to attend.
Who will deliver the course? Tracy McDonald and a team of trainers from Bexley Schools and Organisations who have undertaken the NAS training.

Is there a cost to attend the course? There is no cost to parents to attend the course.

- women and girls,
- self-esteem,
- spending time with other people,

- A Teen Life Programme Book will be provided for each family to accompany the programme.

TEEN LIFE BEXLEY - ENHANCED OFFER
Whilst Teen Life is a stand alone course for parent carers, in Bexley, since 2022 parents can access our enhanced Teen Life offer.
Bexley Voice offer follow up sessions to parent carers, on completion of the 6 week Teen Life Bexley course.
Each group are offered four monthly sessions, at a time and location to best suit the group.
These facilitated sessions are designed to enable parent carers to:

- continue to meet and share experiences, worries about and the progress of their young people.
- receive, support and signposting, from Bexley Voice, to other local and national services, which may be helpful.
